I just experienced deja vu while watching the San Diego Chargers beat the Kansas City Chiefs 20-19 on CBS. With 23 seconds left in the game, Chargers strong safety Clinton Hart swatted away an attempted two-point conversion pass to preserve San Diego’s victory. That reminded me of the exciting Streator High School football game I attended last weekend. The Streator Bulldogs beat Normal University High School 14-13 for their first-ever postseason victory, clinched when Normal botched a two-point conversion attempt with 35.6 seconds left in the game.

Unfortunately, the Bulldogs were eliminated from the playoffs yesterday after losing 35-20 to the Metamora Redbirds. That was not a surprise considering Metamora is undefeated this season and is the defending state champion. Nonetheless, kudos to the Bulldogs for going as far as they did.
