Here’s a reminder for Blagophiles to set their DVRs and VCRs to record the embattled Illinois governor’s multiple television appearances scheduled for Monday, the day his impeachment trial is set to begin. First Rod Blagojevich will appear solo on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and NBC’s “Today” (both shows begin at 7 a.m. CST), then with his wife, Patti, on ABC’s “The View” (from 10 to 11 a.m.). After taking a break from television appearances for awhile – presumably to watch his impeachment trial from afar instead of in person – Blagojevich will be Larry King’s guest on CNN at 8 p.m.

Cowboy Rod ought to make for some good TV watching on those programs and in absentia during his impeachment trial. The train wreck might even be amusing to watch if His Hairness wasn’t screwing up my home state. Instead I’ll be keeping an eye on events as a concerned citizen who thinks Blagojevich can’t exit the political stage fast enough.
