I wonder if Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius watched “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” last night.
Yesterday President Barack Obama introduced Sebelius as his choice to lead the nation’s Health and Human Services Department. If confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Sebelius will oversee proposed spending cuts in government health programs such as Medicare and Medicaid. Democrats also are expected to push for a universal health care system sometime during Obama’s term.
Ironically, Sebelius was mentioned later during the “Headlines” segment of “The Tonight Show.” One of the newspaper clippings shown by Leno was about the Kansas governor’s son John selling a prison-themed board game called “Don’t Drop the Soap.” The article was written in January 2008, so it is an interesting coincidence that it finally was included in a “Headlines” segment on the same day Sebelius was announced as Obama’s second choice for HHS secretary.
