An early-morning quick hit for you Bread Line readers who have been starving for a new post this past month:

The House ethics committee has been busy lately, first charging U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.) with 13 ethics violations a few days ago, and now charging U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) with requesting federal help for a bank where her husband was a board member and stock holder. (If the accusation is true, that’s a conflict of interest, obviously.) Both Rangel and Waters are longtime members of Congress, which gives Republicans two juicy slabs of red meat to chew on during the lead-up to the November midterm elections.

At this point, is there any doubt the Democrats are going to take a beating at the polls in November? Let’s just hope that the inevitable swing of some political power back to the GOP will result in more cooperation between the two political parties, not less. Otherwise we all will be screwed more than we already are.
